GAME SUMMARY

POLY PREP 4 -MOORE CATHOLIC 2

Mon. March 30th 4:00pm

Location: Poly Prep

After a disappointing loss in the first game of the year, the Blue Devils looked to bounce back against CHSAA powerhouse Moore Catholic. A windy day at Harlow Parker Field but not uncomfortably cold, Poly had a good start. As Richie Carbone started on the mound for the Blue Devils, it was lefty versus lefty on this Monday afternoon. Poly took a 3-0 lead early and never looked back. As Poly tacked on 1 more run making it 4-1, Richie Carbone toed the rubber in the 5th inning with a high pitch count. After Moore put in a run to make it 4-2, it was time for Chesley Ratliff to make an appearance. Ratliff shut the door on the Mavericks in 2 1/3 innings, 0 runs and 2 hits. The Blue Devils pick up a great out of league win as they beat Moore Catholic 4-2. Moore had runners in scoring position every inning but the Poly pitchers and defense were able to do their job and limit the trouble. The Blue Devils will head up to Horace Mann on Wednesday to open up the Ivy League schedule as the Poly record moves to 1-1. Tom Laurendi will be on the mound.
